Community 1: Finnish Society delves deep into the country's political and social systems. It familiarises readers with the fundamental structures of society, how power is exercised and how individuals can influence the society around them.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part examines society and its structure. The second part looks at civil society from various perspectives. The final section takes readers into the world of state institutions and politics.

The learning material uses current events to illustrate social issues. The book's exercises help students grasp the bigger picture and form their own views on these issues. The book's automatically corrected exercises provide immediate feedback on the students' understanding of the topics.

This work is in line with the Finnish upper secondary school curriculum (LOPS2021).
